Bosnia and Herzegovina will sign the Central European Air Traffic Services (CEATS) programme agreement before the end of the year, committing the state to the Eurocontrol project which is designed to create joint provision of air traffic services (ATS) within the upper airspace of central European states. The intention is to reduce capacity bottlenecks in Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia. Bosnia and Herzegovina's commitment to CEATS follows last month's opening of its Research, Development and Simulation Centre in Budapest, Hungary, which will support experimental work for the future CEATS Upper Area Control Centre in Vienna, Austria.
