GKN Aerospace Services (Hall 4, G16) has been contracted by Airbus UK to design and manufacture A380 wing trailing-edge panels using GKN-developed composite manufacturing technology.
The contract is worth an estimated $600 million over the assumed 600-aircraft life of the programme, and brings the total value of the company's involvement to more than $800 million.
GKN is already working on the design of the A380 wing midbox and is building the composite flap-track beams.
