The first of three British Aerospace ATP turboprop freighters is being prepared for delivery to Indian courier company First Flight Couriers, which is establishing a domestic cargo operation.

The Mumbai-based company is leasing the aircraft from BAE Systems, with deliveries due between May and July following conversion into E-class bulk freighters by West Air.

First Flight Couriers, which has traditionally used hold space on Indian domestic carriers and made onward connections by road, has decided to set-up a dedicated airline to improve its service.
