In-flight interactive shopping service provider FlightStore has secured its launch customer, with a deal to put its services on Lauda Air's Boeing 777 and 767s featuring Matsushita's System 2000E. The UK company will conduct a two-week test on one 777 in the second quarter of next year, rolling out on a second777 and six 767s pending a successful trial, says FlightStore. Passengers will be able to make purchases from a Lauda Air-branded shopping centre on the System 2000E. Purchase information will be sent during the flight via Inmarsat satellite communications to FlightStore's ground-based server.
