FLS Aerospace is expanding into Continental Europe with the setting up of a maintenance base in Denmark.
The company is believed to be about to announce a deal to set up an operation at a site previously occupied by Pemco World Air Services at Copenhagen Airport which went out of business.
The move, will give the UK-based, but Danish owned, third party maintenance company its first operation outside the UK. FLS declined to comment.
The company will move maintenance work on Copenhagen-based Premiair McDonnell Douglas DC-10-10s and Airbus A320s undertaken in the UK to the new operation, according to line maintenance workers at the airline who are being asked to move to FLS as part of the deal.
FLS is also continuing due diligence on the takeover of the TEAM Aer Lingus operation in Dublin. The deal is threatened by workforce reluctance to move from the Irish airline group.
