Hongdu's proposed L-15 supersonic advanced trainer/light attack aircraft will probably be powered by the Progress Al-25 engine, or its locally built development the WS-11. The Al-25 powers Chinese air force-operated Hongdu K-8s, in place of the basic trainer's more usual Honeywell TFE731-2. A model displayed at last month's China Aviation Expo in Beijing, suggests that the new aircraft would have a span of around 11m (36ft) and be 15m long.
