Bombardier has revealed details of the flightdeck layout of its planned CSeries airliner family. The flightdeck will be equipped with four large-format landscape liquid-crystal displays, along with two large electronic flight-bag side screens.
The 110- and 135-seat airliner family will be equipped with fly-by-wire flight controls, prompting Bombardier to adopt Airbus-style sidesticks for manual control. Pilots will have single information displays in front of them that will provide integrated primary and navigation flight data.
The two central displays will provide data on engines, systems and warnings. Although Bombardier has been working with Rockwell Collins for the flightdeck avionics, it is yet to finalise a supplier and the Canadian manufacturer has also held discussions with Thales.
