Russian state transport leasing company GTLK is to be allocated Rb5 billion to support its aircraft operations.

The country’s trade and industry ministry, through its social media feed, says that Rb4 billion will be assigned to Sukhoi Superjet 100s.

It adds that the remaining Rb1 billion will be directed to supporting the Aircraft Industries L-410 turboprop, whose manufacturer was acquired by Russian firm UGMK.

The allocation follows the decision last year to increase the capital of the company by Rb30 billion to back an extensive lease programme for Superjets.

GTLK had transferred a total of eight Superjets through operational leases by the end of the first half of this year.

While the initial commitment to Superjets amounted to 32 aircraft, the lessor says it has concluded “preliminary contracts” for the supply of more than 110 Superjets.
