Raisbeck Engineering says it is "at a decision point" in the ZR Technology performance-enhancement programme for the Learjet 35/36. Flight testing of the drag-reduction package is complete, and the final market assessment phase is under way. The company says it needs 20 conditional orders to authorise investment in production tooling, leading to first customer delivery late this year.
Launch orders are being accepted at $200,000 apiece, including kit installation and paint. Subsequent orders are priced at $260,000 for the ZR kit, plus installation and paint estimated at $15,000-25,000 per aircraft. Raisbeck says the ZR package reduces balanced field length; increases high-altitude, night-day airport performance; raises initial cruise altitudes by more than 2,000ft (600m); increases cruise speed by M0.02-0.03; and extends range by 10-12%.
