Asiana has extended a major engine-servicing contract with Lufthansa Technik by five years. The deal covers General Electric CF6-80C2 engines powering its Boeing 747-400 and 767 fleet, with work being carried out at Lufthansa Technik's Powerplant Services centre in Hamburg. Japan Air System has signed a five-year contract with Lufthansa Technik for its Total Component Maintenance. The deal covers the airline's 36 Airbus A300B4s and A300-600s. National Jet Systems (NJS)/National Air Support (NAS) based in Adelaide, Australia and Standard Aero have signed a memorandum of understanding on maintenance, repair and overhaul support of the PW100 turboprop engine. The parties aim to reach a deal for the maintenance and overhaul of the PW100 engines powering the NJS/NAS's 13 Bombardier Dash 8s. The firms will expand maintenance support services co-operation in the Asia/Pacific region. Air Canada has been awarded a five- year, $60 million deal to maintain and repair Atlantic Coast Airlines' fleet of Bombardier CRJs. Work will be conducted at Air Canada's maintenance centre at Dorval airport in Montreal.
