German charter carrier Aero Lloyd took delivery on 16 January of its first IAE V2500-powered Airbus A320. The airline will eventually operate a fleet of six A320s and ten A321s, configured in a single-class layout for 174 and 212 passengers, respectively. The Airbuses will successively replace the existing fleet of 20 McDonnell Douglas MD-80s on charter services to the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands.
