A new flight data monitoring system has been tailor-made for the Czech L-159 light combat aircraft.
Developed by Speel Praha (Hall 6, Stand D3), the Aircraft Monitoring System (AMOS) comprises both airborne and ground equipment and is designed to acquire, process, record and monitor flight data.
It includes a portable memory unit (PMU) which allows the pilot to download data covering the whole of each flight.
"With a separate memory unit for crash and maintenance purposes, real-time data processing and interactivity with the pilot, it can match any comparable system," says project manager Larbi Ouchelouche.
An AMOS derivative, designated PMS, has been fitted to the L-39 jet trainers operated by the Czech Air Force. "Its modularity made adapting AMOS for this application straightforward," says Ouchelouche.
