Dyn'Aéro aims to double production of its MCR ULC ultralight aircraft with the opening of a new manufacturing facility in Portugal. The French manufacturer's decision to develop the €6 million ($5.2 million) plant will allow it to increase production from 50 to 100 units per year.
Dijon-based Dyn'Aéro's 70% subsidiary Dyn'Aéro Iberia plans to complete the first two-seat MCR ULC in Portugal in 18 months.
The 75kW (100hp) Bombardier Rotax 912S-powered aircraft has a maximum cruising speed of 164kt (300km/h) at an altitude of 12,000ft (3,660m). The aircraft has a maximum take-off weight of 450kg and only requires a 50m (165ft) runway for take-off. It has a range of 1,350km (700nm) which can be extended to 2,400km when the aircraft is fitted with auxiliary tanks.
Dyn'Aéro has built 220 MCRs since the programme's inception in 1997 and has seen strong demand in France, Germany, Italy and the UK. With a small but growing market in South America, the company is keen to establish a production site in Peru
