Export Development Canada (EDC) and Bank of Communications Financial Leasing have signed a C$100 million ($89.1 million) to C$250 million financing deal for Bombardier aircraft.
The aircraft are bound for an unnamed Austria-based operator, an EDC disclosure of the deal that was signed on 30 September shows.
Business jet operators Amira Air, Avcon Jet and VistaJet are the only Austria-based companies with outstanding orders for Bombardier aircraft, the Ascend Fleets database shows.
VistaJet is the likely beneficiary of the EDC funds. It already has experience with export credit lease financing through Chinese lessors having signed a $210 million deal with EDC and ICBC Leasing for five Bombardier Global 6000s in July 2013.
The business jet operator has firm orders for 111 Bombardier aircraft, including two Challenger 300s, 14 Challenger 350s, 17 Challenger 605s, 26 Global 5000s, 25 Global 6000s, 16 Global 8000s and 11 Learjet 85s, Ascend shows.
VistaJet is scheduled to take delivery of one Challenger 300, eight Challenger 605s, six Global 5000s, one Global 6000 and one Learjet 85 by the end of this year, according to Ascend.
VistaJet was not immediately available for comment.
