Embraer has placed its first business jet in China, a new Legacy that was delivered to a Macau executive last month.
Macau-based Jet Asia says it is operating the aircraft on a managed basis and plans later to make the aircraft available for charter. The executive is willing to have the aircraft chartered part-time, but Jet Asia first must register the aircraft in Macau or partner a US operator. Although the aircraft is now US-registered, to register it in Macau could take time because there are no Embraer aircraft operating in the former Portuguese enclave.
Embraer China says it is the first Legacy to be based in Asia with the exception of India. Jet Asia already operates Bombardier Challengers.
