Engine orders for regional jets are continuing to grow, and GE (Hall 2 Stand L10) expects to deliver 500 of its CF34 engines to regional jet customers in 2007, marking a record production number for this engine family.
"With 3,600 engines in service and more than 37 million total engine flight hours, the CF34 engines has a proven track record for reliability and performance," says Chuck Nugent, general manager of the CF34 Program. "The introduction of the CF34-10E engine in 2005 has been well received by customers and has enabled us to maintain a steady order book for the last five years."
The CF34 family of engines powers a variety of aircraft including Embraer’s E170/175, E190, Bombardiers CRJ100, 200, CRJ700 and the new CRJ1000. Outside of the west it will provide 18,000 pounds of thrust for China’s ARJ21 regional jet. First delivery of the CF34-10A for the ARJ21 is set for Q4 2007 and first flight is scheduled for 2008.
