GULFSTREAM Aerospace delivered the first Gulf-stream V long-range business jet to a customer on 1 July.
The aircraft, serial number 507, is owned by publishing magnate Walter Annenberg, a former US ambassador to the UK. The GV will be based at a new, purpose-built, hangar at New Castle County Airport in Delaware.
The GV was fitted out at Gulfstream's Savannah, Georgia, completion centre. The aircraft includes structural modifications identified during the certification flight-test programme to strengthen the wing. Gulfstream received delayed full US type-certification of the GV in April and production certification in June.
The company, meanwhile, has delivered the first GIV-SP to be fitted out at its Brunswick, Georgia, completion centre. The aircraft was handed over to Executive Jet International for use in its Gulfstream Shares fractional-ownership programme.
The Brunswick centre is focused exclusively on completing GIV-SPs for the Gulfstream Shares programme and will outfit five or six aircraft a year.
The work was previously performed at the manufacturer's completion centre at Long Beach, in California.
