Indonesian carrier Merpati Nusantara plans to lease six Boeing 737 Classic aircraft.
The airline has signed letters of interest with several leasing companies, says an airline official. The six aircraft will include 737-300s, 737-400s and 737-500s.
Merpati will use the aircraft for fleet replacement and expansion, adds the official,
Reports say that the aircraft Merpati intends to lease are built in 1995. Merpati operates 13 737s currently, according to Flightglobal's ACAS database.
