Thales has launched two new ways for customers to connect with its IFEC products.
The Thales App Portal will open to customers later this year to offer airlines and software developers a new way to manage applications within the TopSeries AVANT system.
Based on the Google Android Marketplace, the portal allows the user to review and buy new applications to run on their hardware systems.
"This innovation reflects the Thales open culture and partnership strategy," said Stuart Dunleavy, vice president of marketing and consumer propositions for Thales' IFEC sector.
Thales also plans to increase the portfolio of TopSeries AVANT applications using the new portal, the company said.
Separately, Thales also has partnered with FlyteComm Inc to open the Airline Operations Center. The new facility will be based in the US, but Thales has not announced the specific location. When it opens the AOC will provide real-time support and awareness to airline customers.
