US air taxi company JetSuite is expanding its management offering and hopes to have “dozens of aircraft” in its fleet by the end of 2017.

“We have been managing three Embraer Phenom 100s on a low-key basis for a while, but haven’t formally launched the service until now,” says JetSuite co-founder and chief executive Alex Wilcox.

The Irvine, California-based company is initially looking to take on Phenom 100s and 300s, Legacy 600/650s and Cessna Citation CJ3s to complement its existing fleet, but will eventually add other models.

The expansion comes a week after US low-cost carrier JetBlue Airways made a minority equity investment in JetSuite which Wilcox – himself a former JetBlue executive and co-founder – says will fuel its fast-growing JetSuiteX bespoke public charter service. The operation was launched in April with Phenom 100s and revamped American Eagle ERJ-135LRs serving an expanding network of cities in California.

“JetSuiteX is changing the game in short-haul air travel, by offering a private jet experience that is affordable and accessible to a broad audience,” says Wilcox. “With JetBlue now on board, it is only a matter of time before we bring the service to the eastern USA,” he adds.

JetSuite operates a fleet of 25 aircraft – 12 Phenom 100s, eight CJ3s and five ERJ-135s.
