British Airways marked ten years since its privatisation in February 1987 with another record profits performance. BA, which is making a small change in its livery pending a longer-term redesign (see above), posted pre-tax profits of ú113 million ($183 million) for the December quarter, the third in the airline's financial year. For the nine months, BA's profit is running at ú585 million. The airline's passenger traffic climbed by 9% in the quarter, although strengthening of sterling saw yields fall by nearly 2%. The results were in sharp contrast to KLM, which showed a small net loss for the same quarter as costs pushed up by 7%.The Dutch airline forecasts a dip of DFl150 million ($80 million) in net profits for the full-year to March, but says that markets are turning up.
