While sympathising with London theatre-goers Mr and Mrs Jolley (Flight International, 7-13 October), surely we need to know the reasons for the helicopter's "anti-social hovering" activities before we can judge whether the nuisance caused was justified.
Were lives being saved or were criminals being apprehended? I assume that they were not engaged on passenger-carrying duties as there are no heliports near the Globe Theatre. Helicopters are by their nature noisy, especially so at low speed and low altitudes. Noise is the price we pay for using their positive attributes in urban environments.
