Legacy after-market components specialist Ontic is to provide repairs and product support to owners of Hawker 800 series aircraft fitted with Aviation Partners blended wingtips.

Aviation Partners has installed 130 of these systems on the mid-size business jet since gaining a supplemental type certificate in 2004. Ontic can carry out repairs at its Houston facility or deliver replacement ailerons around the world.

Ontic, which specialises in licence-producing more than 4,000 mature electro-mechanical, machined and electronic product lines no longer made by the original equipment manufacturer, is also at Paris marking the completion of its acquisition of GE Aviation's fuel measurement business in Cheltenham, UK. The BBA Aviation subsidiary, which offers its parts under its own brand, has set up a facility in the west of England town, initially employing 80 people. The new business sells and overhauls fuel gauging and measurement systems to OEMS and airlines, covering a base of 6,200 aircraft
