British Airways franchisee British Mediterranean Airways (BMA) will launch twice-weekly Airbus A320 services between London Heathrow and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on behalf of the major from October. In the same month, BMA will take over BA's thrice weekly Almaty, Kazakhstan services, operating from Heathrow instead of Gatwick. It will also increase Baku, Azerbaijan connections from six weekly flights to daily. US Airways Express is to introduce three times weekly direct flights between Omaha, Nebraska, and Pittsburgh from September, operated by 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145s. Lufthansa is dropping its three times weekly flights to Lima, Peru, from the end of October. Swissair is operating four-times daily Geneva-Paris Orly services, served by its Airbus narrowbodies and Crossair BAE Systems Avro RJ85/100s. The route was previously served by Swissair subsidiary Air Liberte.
