Smiths Industries Aerospace has appointed Paul Edwards vice-president of business development for its civil-systems division, based in Clearwater, Florida. He was previously director of strategic planning, and joined the company in 1994. Smiths has also named David Montgomery director of manufacturing operations at Clearwater, responsible for assembly, test, production control, engineering and facilities management. He joined Smiths in 1996 from Honeywell/Group Technologies, where he was operations manager.
