New Zealand's director of civil aviation is monitoring developments with terrain awareness warning systems (TAWS) and is considering amending Part 135 regulations to require the installation of TAWS on aircraft following the controlled flight into terrain crash of a Piper PA 31-350 Navajo Chieftain.
