Vietnam Airlines is in talks with Airbus over the acquisition of A380 aircraft.
Airbus has confirmed that it in "constructive talks" with the Vietnamese flag-carrier over a deal for the double-deck jets.
But the airframer declines to elaborate on the timescale of the negotiations, or confirm the number of A380s involved.
Reports from Asia, citing an executive from Airbus parent company EADS, indicate that Vietnam Airlines is seeking four of the type.
