Dubai international airport has been resuming operations following a drone incident on 16 March which sparked a fire at a fuel tank.
There were no injuries reported, and the city’s civil defence agency says the fire has been brought under control.
Flights to and from the airport are “gradually resuming” to selected destinations, says the airport’s operator, following a temporary suspension implemented as a precautionary measure.

The interruption highlights the on-off nature of airport operations in the Gulf, amid the Iranian conflict which began on 28 February.
Several Gulf states, the United Arab Emirates among them, have faced drone and missile attacks from Iran. An Iranian missile attack on 28 February damaged a terminal building at Dubai airport.
Emirates, as well as other UAE operators like Flydubai and Etihad Airways, restarted limited commercial operations from 6 March, following the partial reopening of the country’s airspace.
