Bombardier’s year-on-year business jet output slid by almost 25% in the first quarter of 2019 as a result of a delivery timetable that is more heavily weighted to the second half of the year.
The shipment schedule reflects the entry into service of the Global 5500 and 6500 – re-engined and revamped versions of the Global 5000 and 6000 – and the production ramp-up of the Global 7500. The ultra-long-range business jet entered service in December 2018 and Bombardier plans to deliver 15-20 examples this year.

In its preliminary first-quarter results, released on 25 April, Bombardier records 24 business jet deliveries: a pair of Learjet 75s, 14 Challengers 350/650s, and eight Global 5000/6000/7500s. This compares with 31 aircraft delivered in the same period a year earlier: three Learjets, 18 Challengers, and 10 Globals.
Revenues for the business jet division slid to around $970 million from $1.1 billion in the first quarter of 2018. However, backlog value is $14.9 billion – $600 million higher than a year ago.
Guidance for 2019 remains unchanged, "with revenues of approximately $6.25 billion on 150 to 155 aircraft deliveries".
