* Rheinmetall Defence Electronics has selected a seven-channel Evans & Sutherland EPX-500 visual system for a MiG-29 simulator being produced for the Indian navy.

* Boeing is to begin low-rate initial production of the 115kg (250lb) Small Diameter Bomb Increment I (fixed/stationary targets) under a $18.5 million US Air Force contract.

* FLIR Systems is to develop a small stabilised thermal-imaging system, with colour visible imaging and laser capability, for use on lightweight unmanned air vehicles under a $13 million US Army research contract.

* Harris is to begin production of the Hawklink Ku-band sensor datalink for the US Navy's Lockheed Martin/Sikorsky MH-60R multi-mission helicopter under a contract potentially worth $350 million by 2015.

* Lockheed Martin is to produce more than 1,080 Hellfire II missiles for the US Army under a $90 million contract to replenish stocks depleted during operations in Iraq.

* Italy's Selenia Communications is to provide the HF Radio System for the US Navy's future fleet of 75 E-2D Advanced Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft under a contract modification with Northrop Grumman.
