The Czech air force is to operate only half of the 72 Aero Vodochody L-159s that it has on order. The remainder will be available for sale to other countries, according to incoming Czech defence minister Jaroslav Tvrdik. He says that the air force cannot alter the order without incurring heavy penalty charges. The L-159's service entry was delayed by around a year for technical reasons and air force pilots only recently started training on the light combat aircraft.
