Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has been accused of price fixing in a notice filed against it and eleven other defendants by an American freight forwarding company.

The airline was served with a complaint filed in the United States district court for the eastern district of New York on behalf of Philadelphia-based Benchmark Export Services and six other plaintiffs, says MAS.

"The case involves allegations of price fixing on airfreight shipping services and related surcharges," says MAS, which received the notice on 16 February.

"At this juncture, no infringement has been established. The recently served complaint does not make any mention of the quantum of damages sought against MAS," adds the carrier.

It is seeking legal advice in relation to the complaint, adds MAS.

Benchmark, which was incorporated in 1986, provides sea and air freight forwarding and transportation services, says the company's website.
