Hawaiian Airlines has announced plans to acquire nine additional Boeing 767-300ERs as part of a major fleet modernisation programme which will see it take 29 new Boeing 717-200s and 767s by the end of 2003.
The Pratt & Whitney PW4060- powered aircraft will replace former American Airlines McDonnell Douglas DC-10s, and are being leased through Boeing Capital and Ansett Worldwide. They will be delivered at the rate of one per month between September 2002 and May 2003, joining seven aircraft due between October 2001 and June 2002. Three will be leased from Ansett and four from International Lease Finance.
