Top of the Props

Hartzell Propeller has won new certifications for its Top Prop series of three-blade propellers. The design is now approved on Cessna's A188 Agwagon as well as on Raytheon Aircraft's Bonanza A36 and B36TC.

Flexjet expands

Customers for Bombardier's FlexJet business jet fractional ownership programme increased by 60% in the Canadian company's fiscal year 1998-9. By 31 January, the company had 330 customers, up from 206 at the end of its previous fiscal year.

First Police TCAS

Eurocopter EC135s operated by the NorthWales Police Air Support Unit are the first UK police helicopters to be equipped with the traffic alert and collision system (TCAS). BFGoodrich's TCAS791A TCAS 1 has been selected after ground and flight tests by the UKDefence Evaluation & Research Agency.

Jet fleet addition

Jet Aviation has added a Bombardier Challenger business jet to its European charter aircraft fleet. The 10-seat, long-range aircraft will be based at Jet's business jet subsidiary at Zurich Airport, Switzerland, which manages and operates a growing inventory of about 50 aircraft

Falcon lands record

Dassault says that a Falcon 2000 equipped with Flight Dynamics' Headup Guidance System (HGS) has become the first business jet to make a manually flown landing in Category IIIa conditions. The demonstrator made the landing at Venice's Tessera International Airport. The manufacturer says about half of all corporate Falcon 2000s are being delivered with the HGSinstalled.

Zimex Services Galaxy

Switzerland's Zimex Aviation has become the third European authorised service centre for Galaxy Aerospace's Galaxy business jet. The "super mid-sized" aircraft will be maintained at Zimex's Zurich site, which also maintains Executive Jet's Netjets Europe fractional ownership fleet.
