The Rolls-Royce Turbomeca RTM322 turbo-shaft engine will power the 67 Westland/McDonnell Douglas WAH-64D Apache attack-helicopters ordered by the UK, opening up the possibility of the engine being considered for any upgrade of the US Army's fleet of Apaches.

The engine has already been selected to power Europe's EH101 and NH90 helicopters.

Meanwhile, the consortium continues to develop the Adour turbofan, an up-rated version of, which may be offered for South Korea's planned KTX-II advanced trainer/light combat aircraft. The Republic of Korea Air Force already flies Hawk trainers fitted with the 25kN Adour 861.
