Honeywell has been selected by Ethiopian Airlines to provide maintenance support for the cockpits, auxiliary power units and mechanical systems of its Boeing 737s and 777s.

The agreements cover the provision of spares and repair and overhaul services, says Honeywell.

"Honeywell's repair and overhaul support means we can reduce aircraft downtime while keeping an eye on costs," states Tewolde Gebremariam, Ethiopian's group chief executive.

"This helps ensure our international, regional and domestic passengers reach their destinations quickly and comfortably."

Honeywell says the deal includes "flexible payment options" which will allow the carrier to "better schedule… maintenance budgets", but provides no additional detail on the scheme.

Ethiopian Airlines operates 18 737NG-family aircraft, with the first of 30 737 Max jets having recently been delivered, Flight Fleets Analyzer shows. The carrier also has 16 777s, with another four examples of the freighter variant on order.
