Some 73 freighters operated on behalf of the US Postal Service (USPS) will be replaced by shared Federal Express flights from August. The move will leave Emery Worldwide, Kitty Hawk Airlines, Capital Cargo International, Gemini Air Cargo and Evergreen International looking for new homes for various Boeing 727s and a 747, DC-10s and a DC-9 that currently operate on behalf of the USPS. The move follows a $6.3 billion deal between USPS and FedEx.
