Wet-lease specialise Avia Solutions Group has secured European approval for heavy maintenance services on Boeing 737 Max jets.
The company’s FL Technics division has obtained Part-145 certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.
It says this will enable it to carry out heavy maintenance on 737 Max 8s and 9s at its Lithuanian facilities in Vilnius and Kaunas.
FL Technics chief Zilvinas Lapinskas says the approval is a “natural step” in the company’s growth.
Avia Solutions Group has multiple wet-lease operators with a combined fleet of more than 220 aircraft.
Last year it ordered up to 80 737 Max jets, of which 40 are firm.
“With the market transitioning toward newer, more sustainable aircraft, this [EASA approval] helps us stay ahead of fleet evolution,” says FL Technics deputy chief for base maintenance Juozas Lapeika.
