Turkish Airlines is to explore potential joint activities, including aircraft leasing and maintenance, with Air Algerie under a new co-operation agreement.
The two carriers have signed a memorandum of understanding which covers an expanded codeshare arrangement.
“This agreement marks a key step in deepening ties between both airlines,” says Turkish Airlines chief Bilal Eksi.
“As the airline flying to more countries than any other, we remain committed to expanding co-operation across multiple areas to provide greater benefits and options for our guests.”

The carrier says it will look at various other joint initiatives with Air Algerie including ground-handling, catering, cargo interline and environmental projects.
Turkish Airlines is a member of Star Alliance, but Air Algerie is unallied.
Air Algerie chief Hamza Benhamouda says the pact will cover “the exchange of expertise” and “will undoubtedly bring mutual benefits to both our companies and to our passengers”.
