Alsim, a leader in the European flight-training market, celebrates its 10th anniversary at the Paris airshow by introducing its AL200-DA42 flight simulator for the Austrian-built DA42 Twin Star.

Nantes-based Alsim specialises in the design and manufacture of flight simulators for professional pilot training, targeted at airline companies.

The company, run by a young staff of 30, prides itself on innovation and swears by its new development. "The AL200 simulator is truly a high-quality training tool," says Alsim's Yves-Marie Ledem.

The DA42 Twin Star, manufactured by Austrian company Diamond Aircraft, has already been a huge success: 500 aircraft have been sold worldwide, and to meet increasing demand, production has risen 70% from May.

On the back of Twin Star sales, three AL200 simulators were sold while the plan was still on paper. In March, Alsim purchased the first DA42 to be delivered in France.

Expectations

Alsim has great expectations for the simulator and fresh plans for the next: "We have already started on a project to produce a fixed-base Boeing 737NG simulator to compete with the full-flight versions manufactured by larger pilot-training companies such as Thales," says Ledem.
