ABS Gyros has brought its Xenon autogyro to Paris for the first time.
Company owner Raphael Celier is keen to emphasise the benefits of the Xenon, in particular its robust build and exceptional stability: "Although it's much cheaper than a helicopter the sensations are more luxurious. It's the limousine of the air."
The two-seater uses a single-piece composite body, and is on sale at e28,000 ($33,700).
Aluminium
It is fitted with a Hirth F3D028 105hp engine and has an aluminium 8H12 rotor and a helicopter-style instrument panel.
Celier says he has full order books for the next two years and plans to build 88 this year, double the 2004 production rate.
Celier is an aviator who has worked as a flight engineer on Malaysian Airlines 747s and as a development engineer for Dassault before setting up ABS.
