UK LOW-COST AIRLINE easyJet is threatening to take KLM to court over what it alleges are the Dutch flag carrier's "-unlawful attempts to drive easyJet from the Dutch market".

easyJet claims that KLM's decision to cut its lowest fare on the Amsterdam-London route to Dfl95 ($57), below easyJet's Dfl99 price, contravenes European Union competition rules governing abuse of a dominant position and predatory pricing. Lawyers for the UK carrier have written to KLM demanding that it revise its fares by 8 August, or face legal action. KLM is "-surprised by the attitude taken by easyJet. We operate in a free aviation market, which means we must compete by responding to actions taken by competitors."
