The US Department of the Air Force (DAF) has announced that a plan to base Boeing F-15SG fighters of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) at Guam’s Andersen AFB will not move forward.
In an environmental impact statement, the DAF says that the “beddown” of up to 12 of the RSAF fighters will not take place at the site.

The DAF does not provide background on the decision not to base the fighters at Andersen.
The plan to station RSAF F-15SGs at Andersen was originally announced in 2023. The focus of the planned deployment was to support training for the RSAF, which is understood to operate 40 F-15SGs.
Singapore possesses a very capable military, but the city state’s tiny size reduces training options at home. Training overseas is a key priority for Singapore, including the permanent deployment of F-15SGs to Mountain Home AFB in Idaho.
Despite the cancellation, the statement indicates that from this year Andersen will see the addition of more space for aircraft parking and taxiways, new maintenance facilities, improved fuel distribution infrastructure, and improved security fencing.
The statement adds that plans have been dropped to build three new earth-covered magazines for the storage of munitions.
Andersen AFB operates primarily as a support and logistics hub with rotational aircraft deployments, focusing on power projection capabilities and rapid deployment support for the Asia-Pacific.
