Signature Flight Support (stand E200) is at MEBA for the first time to "say thank you" to its growing base of Middle Eastern customers who use its facilities in Europe and North America and "better understand the market".
The world's biggest fixed-base operator is looking at possible expansion into the region. "We don't have a presence here but our eyes and ears are open," says Patrick Sniffen, vice-president marketing of the Orlando-headquartered company.
The BBA Aviation subsidiary has also launched a fuelling service at its London Heathrow FBO, one of three facilities it has around the UK capital. The move means Signature can offer an alternative to its customers to official Heathrow fuel supplier BP, says office manager Sazan Majeed.
Signature bought the Heathrow facility seven years ago and has since then been steadily building its network of FBOs in Europe. In 2005 it added the former FBO Shannon at the western Irish airport, which it markets mainly as a fuelling and customers clearance stop for transatlantic flights.
Its other European sites are at Dublin, Liege, London Gatwick and Luton, Munich, Nice, Paris Le Bourget and Toulon.
