British Airways' first Boeing 787-8 has arrived at London Heathrow, touching down runway 27L at around 12:06 following a delivery flight from Seattle.
The airline originally ordered eight 787-8s and 16 of the larger 787-9 before committing to a further 18 787s including the newly-launched 787-10.
BA is to perform training flights out of the UK's Manston airport and conduct short-haul familiarisation operations with the type in Europe before putting it into long-haul service.
It has identified Toronto and Newark as the initial long-haul destinations for the aircraft. BA is due to take a second 787 in quick succession.
