UK seat maker Acro is to supply its Series 3 ST seat to Viva Air for the Latin American low-cost airline group’s 50-strong Airbus A320 order. It is Chinese-owned Acro’s first deal in the region and significant in that it is another line-fit contract for a company that has for its first 10 years been almost entirely focused on the retrofit market.

Each A320 will be configured with 188 economy seats, and deliveries will begin in the second half of this year. The aircraft will be operated by VivaColombia and Viva Air Peru.

Acro was due to announce the deal at Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg on 10 April. At last year's event Air New Zealand selected Acro's Series 6 seat for its 18 on-order A320neo family aircraft.
