Taiwan-based Transasia Airways (TNA) has placed an order with Thales Avionics (Hall A/319) for 19 extended storage Quick Access Recorders (EQAR). The digital optical disk recorder will be fitted on TNA's fleet of Airbus A320 and ATR 72 aircraft.
The EQAR records the flight data parameters necessary for airlines to perform flight operations, aircraft performance and maintenance analysis and is based on rewritable optical disk technology, providing increased recording capacity and reliability at lower operating costs.
Worldwide
The EQAR can be used as a Quick Access Recorder (QAR) or as a Digital Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) Recorder (DAR) and has been in airline service since 1993.
There are more than 1,000 Thales Avionics' EQAR systems in operation worldwide, covering both air transport and regional operators.
The system is certificated on most commercial aircraft, including Airbus A300/310/320/330, Boeing B777/737, MD11/80/90, Bombardier Dash 8-400 and CRJ 200-700, ATR 42/72 and Embraer 135/145.
