Singapore-based low-cost carrier Tiger Airways has extended the leases on two Airbus A320 aircraft for 18 months from January 2011.

This will increase the number of aircraft in Tiger's fleet to 28 from 26 at the end of its current financial year on 31 March 2011.

Tiger's spokesman declines to name the owner of the two aircraft. The carrier operates a fleet of 22 A320 family aircraft and plans to increase this to 68 by end-2015. It also recently agreed to lease two aircraft to Philippine carrier Seair, which is beginning international flights.
