Taiwan's U-Land Airline says that it is negotiating to buy an undisclosed stake in Vietnam's struggling Pacific Airlines. The two-year-old Taiwan domestic carrier wants to use Pacific Airlines to help expand internationally. U-Land operates four McDonnell Douglas MD-82s and plans to acquire two more. Pacific Airlines is struggling to survive, having recently returned two of its leased Boeing 727s and suspended services to Macau.
