Russian carrier VIM Airlines is expected to upgrade its Soviet-era fleet with ex-Thomas Cook Airlines Germany (TCG) Boeing 757-200s this year. The move follows the sale of 12 TCG (formerly Condor), Pratt & Whitney PW2040-powered 757s to Russian finance company Center-Capital in a deal understood to be worth $126 million. Moscow-based VIM is developing a charter network and will introduce the 757s from April on flights to Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
